A stroke can cause your blood supply to get interrupted which will result in loss of consciousness or sometimes loss of control to some parts of your body. When you have a stroke you will feel a sudden loss of neuro function. The reasons for having a stroke are vast and there are several parts of the body that will be affected by the stroke.. Even if you survive the stroke you may be severely handicapped afterwards.

Some people don't survive a stroke, and this is why it is important to avoid some of the risk factors of a stroke. Some major contributors to strokes are smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Some diseases like diabetes, heart trouble, and migraines will put you at risk.

Strokes are sometime referred to as "Brain Attacks". The reason for this terms is because a stroke effects the brain more than anything. The cause of the stroke is the cutoff of blood going to the brain. When the brain doesn't get enough oxygen several parts of your body will be affected.

Witnessing a person having a stroke can be very scary. If you are ever in this situation you should not panic and call the ambulance as soon as possible. The dispatcher will give you instructions on steps you should take to help the person in need. It is very important that the instructions they give you are followed exactly in order to minimize the damages of the stroke.

After being released from a hospital you will need some medical care. Most people who have a stroke will need to get in home medical care because you may need constant supervision. The best option would be to get patient a home nurse because you need to give them a lot of attention and sometimes it is just better for you to have a medical experienced person.

There are many signs of a stroke that you should pay attention to. Many people who have a stroke will have another occurrence after the primary stroke. Sometimes they may only have a mini stroke, and then there are times when people will have a full-blown stroke. There is always damage to the neurological system when you have a stroke, however, what you do to react to the signs may matter in life or death.

Strokes are not something that you should be underestimated. You will want to treat it like it is a heart attack. You will find that it can be just as deadly as any other medical condition, such as a heart disease.
